Just after a month after having relocated to Los Angeles to play for the L.A. Clippers, 26 year old basketball guard Chris Paul has secured a new home, formerly occupied by singer/songwriter Avril Lavigne for $8.4 million.
Totaling 12,184 square feet, the residence feaures a wine cellar (And accompanying tasting room), gym, 8 bedrooms, 10 ½ bathrooms, large pool, garage parking for 10 cars and of course other essential amentieis fitting a million-dollar basketball star.
The home had originally been up for sale at $9.5 million in May 2011 but eventually reduced to $8,999,999. With Paul expected to make $16.3 million in his first season with the Clippers and $17.7 million to follow in the next, he has plenty of money leftover to dunk on his new property.
Brian Grazer, Oscar-winning producer and co-founder of Imagine Entertainment, has done some home shopping of his own picking up a Spanish-style house in Santa Monica.
Built in 1990, the home is a roomy 10,000+ square feet occupied by 6 bedrooms 9 bathrooms and sports a large swimming pool. Estimated at a value of $16 million, the lot sits on about 2 acres of land.
Having just purchased the home in December, Grazer is sure to begin “producing” additional amenities for the residence once he finishes work on the 84th Annual Academy Awards next month.
Elijah Wood, known for his role in the famed “Lord of the Rings” film series, completed a real life quest of his own by finally locating a buyer for his Spanish-style residence in Santa Monica.
Woods’ home provides ample space and living accommodations. Built in 1924, the home features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, office space, a guest house, 2 car garage and 2,130 ft of living space. Certainly not a hobbit hole!
The home was first listed on the market for $1.85 million in August 2011. The final sale price was listed at $1,758,800. Wood had originally picked the property up in 1999 for $1.45 million from fellow actor, Dylan McDermott.
