The Barbados-born hip hop artist, Rihanna, recently purchased an 11,000 square foot dream home in the Pacific Palisades for $12 million.
The last home Rihanna purchased in Beverly Hills is still on the market. After purchasing it for $6.9 million, and only afterwards finding defects like a leaking roof, it is now on sale for $5 million. The seller is currently facing a lawsuit (which also names the property inspector), in which Rihanna is accusing them of foreknowledge of defects.
The 11,000 square foot house contains seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a media room, a game room, and a 6,000 square foot backyard complete with a swimming pool and bar. Her residence is also a smart home, with one remote control for every feature of the property, including lights, media, fireplaces, alarm and air conditioning.
She tweeted Tuesday: “I literally wake up every morning at 530 ish and stare at my pool til the sun comes up! Just waiting!” After losing nearly $2 million in a home purchase fraught with difficulty in 2009, her new home will hopefully better reflect her celebrity status.
