A much-anticipated second season of “Flipping Vegas” aired on A&E on December 8, 2012 and it couldn’t have returned at a more perfect time. In 2012 we saw house flippers re-enter the market at full force, and in 2013 house flipping will continue to be the talk of the town.
Flipping Vegas follows Scott Yancey and his wife, Amie Yancey, as they fix and flip distressed properties in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scott runs the show and cuts the checks while Amie handles interior design.
But how did Scott Yancey first get into flipping homes? ”In 2008, while having coffee with his wife, the then-land development businessman overheard someone say it was possible to buy a house in Vegas for as little as $36,000. Scott bought 50 properties that year and made almost a 40 percent profit on each one. With changes in the economy, he now buys homes for $100,000 to $500,000 and flips them for an average 20 percent profit,” said the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Clearly something’s going right because between Scott and his wife, they’re sporting over $250,000 in cars on the show. This includes a rare Porsche GT3 RS as well as a Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
Check out new episodes of Flipping Vegas on A&E on Saturdays at 12/11C.
